Boys Track & Field Dominates Tri Meet


The boys track and field team defeated Choate and Hopkins School on Wednesday, May 4, improving to five wins and one loss on the year and securing a winning record for the season, a streak the program has maintained for more than 50 years.

In tri meet scoring, Loomis accumulated 137 points to Hopkins’s 26 and Choate’s 15.

The Pelicans won 14 events, placed second in 13 events, and took third in nine events. Individual winners, some in multiple events, included junior Sam Kurian, sophomore Orion Browne, junior Agam Grover, senior Dejean Sypher, sophomore Sebastian Cohen, senior Liam Hochman, sophomore Anthony Ndika, junior Rohan Vasandani, and senior Michael Zhou.

Up next for the Pelicans, the annual “Twilight Meet,” hosted at Loomis against Phillips Andover Academy, Avon Old Farms, and Northfield Mount Hermon, will take place Saturday, May 7, at 4:30 p.m.
