Paige Capistran ’16, a senior at Northeastern University, was drafted on Thursday, April 30, by the Boston Pride of the National Women’s Hockey League.
Chosen in the fifth round and picked 30th overall, Paige moves to the pro hockey league after a stellar career at Division I Northeastern. This winter in her senior campaign, Paige captained the team, helped Northeastern win its first Beanpot title since 2013, and was named the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award Winner, the first Northeastern women’s ice hockey player to win the award. She finished her college career with 145 games played, tied for sixth-most all-time at Northeastern.
At Loomis, Paige lettered in ice hockey, cross country, and softball. In hockey, she helped the Pelicans reach the Division 1 New England Prep School Athletic Conference championship in 2016. She also named to the 2015–16 New England Prep Girls Second Team.
