Sarah Bennett ’18 and the rest of the Bates College women’s basketball team won the program’s first-ever New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title on Sunday, February 27.

Bates defeated Amherst College, ranked No. 8 in the country, with a 51-42 win in the NESCAC Tournament final after knocking off the tournament’s top-seeded team, Trinity College, the previous day in a thrilling last-second 57-55 victory.
