Winter Athletes Earn All-NEPSAC Honors


Twenty-two Loomis student athletes were named to the 2019­­–20 New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) All-League teams in their respective winter sports, and two others earned All-League honorable mentions.

Highlighting the list is senior R.J. Blakney of the boys basketball team, who was named the Class A NEPSAC Co-Player of the Year. R.J. led the Pelicans on their NEPSAC Class A title run, averaging 20.3 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game. R.J. is headed to the University of Dayton next year, who are currently ranked No. 3 in the country.

Sophomore Drew Boutry: 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle

Senior Min Jun Jung: 200 individual medley, 100 backstroke

Senior McIntyre Pahl: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle

Sophomore Trent Hieber: 100 butterfly

Sophomore Nick Guenther: 100 butterfly

Junior Matt Ryckman: 100 freestyle, 100 breastroke

Senior Gus Hawley: 500 freestyle

Sophomore Liam Hochman: 1-meter dive

Senior Anthony Lo: 1-meter dive

Sophomore Henry Wang: 1-meter dive

Senior Neala Sweeney: 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle

Sophomore Eleanor Zhu: 200 individual medley

Junior Alexa McQuaid: 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke

Junior Sophie Rodner: 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly
