Pelican goals early in the first and second periods lifted the boys varsity hockey team over Trinity-Pawling 3-1 on Saturday, December 1, in Loomis Chaffee's second game of the season and second game on the road.
The Pelicans got on the board three minutes into the game when junior Cody Hoban fired the puck into the back of the net with assists coming from sophomore Cam Partridge and junior Benjamin Ritter. The assist was Partridge's first point as a Pelican. Trinity-Pawling responded with a goal of its own in the first period to tie the game.
Hoban scored again less than a minute into the second period, with assists coming from junior Jake Sigal and junior Ryan Armstrong. Ten minutes later junior Adam Martin got his first goal as a Pelican when he scored on a power play. This time the assists came from senior Reilly Connors and sophomore Cam Partridge.
In goal, junior Kyle Chauvette made 25 saves on 26 shots, for a .962 save percentage. Up next, the Pelicans play their first home game against the Pomfret Griffins at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5.
