Girls Hockey Wins Founders League, Schryver Records 150th Point

The girls varsity ice hockey team captured its third straight Founders League championship when the Pelicans defeated Choate 5-1 on Saturday, February 9, in Wallingford, Conn.

Also highlighting the game, senior Jess Schryver recorded her 150th and 151st points of her Loomis career.

Going into the game with an undefeated Founders League record, the Pelicans started strong, scored quickly, and never looked back. Goal scorers for the Pelicans included seniors Abby Kuhns, who had two goals, as well as seniors Avery Flynn, Jess Schryver, and junior Jenna Donohue.

Sophomore goaltender Elinor Keehn made 16 saves in the win.

The team has not lost a game since December 14 and looks to stay hot when it hosts Pomfret on Wednesday, February 13, at 3 p.m. in the Savage/Johnson Rink. The team has only four games left before New England Prep School tournament play begins.
