After upsetting the top-seeded team in the quarterfinals, the girls ice hockey team lost 1-6 to Kent School, the eventual tournament champions, in the Division I New England girls ice hockey semifinals on Saturday, March 2.
Kent's speed and size overwhelmed the Pelicans, and by the end of the first period, Loomis found itself down 0-3, and just weren't able to complete the comeback by the end of the game. The lone goal for Loomis came from freshman Sophia Testa.
Kent went on to win the championship game 4-1 over Noble & Greenough the following day.
The Loomis team and coaches would like to thank the senior players for all they have done for the program. Seniors Jess Schryver, Georgia Kraus, Avery Flynn, Abby Kuhns, and Maddy Hong helped to make Loomis Chaffee girls ice hockey the competitive program that it is, and in four years these girls managed to reach the Division I semifinal every year.
