The girls lacrosse team opened Founders League play with a 14-4 victory over Choate on Wednesday, April 10, on Pratt Field.
The opening minutes of the game were back and forth as neither team could find the back of the net, but eventually the Pelicans broke through and took a 7-1 lead into halftime, thanks in part to an impressive performance from junior Jenna Donohue, who recorded four goals, six draw controls, three assists, and two ground balls by the end of the game. Senior co-captains Maddie Corsetti (three goals) and Abby Kuhns (three goals) also had big games for the Pelicans.
On the defensive end, sophomore Grace Murphy scooped up three ground balls and forced a caused turnover while junior goalkeeper Gisele Todd had four interceptions from the cage.
The Pelicans will rest over the weekend before a three-game Founders League stretch next week, beginning with a game at Ethel Walker on Monday, April 15, at 4:45 p.m.
