The girls varsity lacrosse team delivered its second shutout of the season on Wednesday, May 8, when the Pelicans defeated Northfield Mount Hermon 12-0.
Senior Charlotte Fanning led the Pelican defense with strong communication and focus throughout the game. She also chipped in at the other end of the field with her first goal of the season.
Meanwhile, junior Jenna Donohue (2 goals, 1 assist, 5 draw controls) and senior Abby Kuhns (1 goal, 4 ground balls, 2 draw controls) continued their dominating play at the midfield, controlling the tempo of the game with their relentless effort.
The Pelicans also saw strong efforts from several other players, including a hattrick from sophomore Taylor Guarino, two assists from junior Emily Lent, a goal from sophomore Teagan Williams, and two assists from freshman Brooke Barry.
The Pelicans, whose record is now 7-3, look to continue their great play when they honor the senior class on Senior Night, Friday, May 10, with a home game against Canterbury at 5 p.m. The team travels to Phillips Andover on Saturday for a 5 p.m. game.
