Girls JV Soccer

This is Abby Orso’s first year at Loomis Chaffee. She graduated from Colby College in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Studies and Human Development at Wesleyan University.

At Colby, Abby was a four-year member of the varsity softball team. A two-time First Team All-NESCAC honoree and three-time All-Region selection, she also earned three All-Region Academic Team honors. In her senior season, she captained the team and received Colby’s Marjorie D. Bither Award, presented to a female student-athlete who demonstrates excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and campus involvement.

Abby used her COVID eligibility year to compete at Wesleyan, where she was named First Team All-NESCAC, First Team All-Region, and All-Region Academic. She also earned the Frummer Award for highest team batting average and the Jones Award as team MVP. Beyond competition, she has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for young athletes at Overcomer Training Center. Before her collegiate career, she was recognized as Maine Gatorade Player of the Year in softball.

At Loomis, Abby teaches freshman English, coaches varsity softball and JV soccer, serves as a Carter resident and Howe affiliate, and works with Student Activities and Summer Programs (LCSP).
