Ali MurphyHead Coach
Ali is, first and foremost, the proud parent of four Pelicans (’16, ’18, ’21, and ’23). She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in American politics from The Catholic University of America and started her career as an event/wedding planner, which comes in handy during our admission events! In 2012, Ali and her family moved to the Island and in 2014 she joined the Loomis admission team. That same year, the Murphy family moved into the then brand-new Richmond Hall, where Ali served as beloved dorm head for three years and dorm resident for another four. She recently moved a quarter of a mile down the road into a faculty house which is walking distance to one of her favorite places on campus — the Savage/Johnson hockey rink. Some of her favorite memories have been in the “Sav,” whether running the game clock, playing broom ball with colleagues, cheering on the boys and girls teams, or screaming with the fans as Larry the Lobster is slid onto the ice during the boys hockey team’s last home game of the season. Probably the most popular Murphy family member is Ali’s 7-year old lab, Elsie (“L.C.”) — a favorite of the Loomis students! -
Kevin GuevaraAssistant Coach
Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, Kevin migrated to the United States when he was 10 years old, living most of his time in New Jersey where he started his journey in independent schools, went to college, and still calls “home.” At Loomis Chaffee, Kevin teaches history and philosophy, coaches soccer and lacrosse, and is the dorm head of Longman Hall. Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in religious studies and philosophy from Pillar College and a master's degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. In his time off you will find him backpacking, reading, or just simply enjoying a good episode of Seinfeld on the couch. On the Island, Kevin most enjoys the skies above the Meadows when the sun rises or sets.
