Ashleigh Scott Sets Record in Collegiate Swimming Debut

In her first collegiate meet last weekend, Boston College freshman Ashleigh Scott '18 helped set two meet records and placed among the top three in all five of her events.

The Eagles hosted the New England Catholic Invitational to open the team's season October 5–6.

Ashleigh raced in two relays and three individual events for the Eagles. In the 400-yard medley relay, Ashleigh and her teammates placed first with a time of 3:54.35. The time was not only a New England Catholic Invite record, but also a pool record. Then, in the 400-yard freestyle relay, Ashleigh and her relay teammates finished first with a time of 3:34.26, setting another meet record.

In her individual events, Scott took third place in the 50-yard free and 100-yard free with times of 24.77 and 53.44, respectively. She placed second in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:57.78.

Ashleigh and her Boston College Swim & Dive team next host Bryant University on Friday, October 12, at 5 p.m.
