The U.S. Women's Lacrosse National Training Team on Wednesday, October 24, released its roster for the President's Cup in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., and Emma Trenchard '17 was named to the team.

The President's Cup is "a signature event of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, featuring more than 300 teams competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Nov. 16–18 in one of the sport's biggest recruiting showcases," according the the United States Lacrosse Organization.

The national training team is composed of mainly professional lacrosse players, as well as a few collegiate players. Emma, a sophomore at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is one of only six collegiate players named to the team and one of only three sophomores who earned a spot, making her one of the youngest players on the team.

She was named the top female athlete in her class as a junior and a senior, and she was a two-time First-Team U.S. Interscholastic Lacrosse Association All-American high school lacrosse player.

In her freshman year at North Carolina, Emma started all 21 games, earned an ACC Defensive Player of the Week nod, and was named to the Inside Lacrosse Women's All Rookie Team, the ACC All-Tournament Team, the ACC All-Academic team, and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
