February 2021 Conversations and Tributes Mark MLK Week 2021 During the week of January 18, Loomis Chaffee students and faculty gathered virtually for a series of activities honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Pelican alumni Stacy-Ann "Ro" Rowe '97, Ahmad Cantrell '07, and Ariel Williams '06 were among the many community members who helped plan and lead the week's events. Pelicans Lobby Congressional Aides for Climate Action Loomis Chaffee's Climate Action Group continues to sound the alarm about global warming. Students and Science Department Head Neil Chaudhary '05, an advisory member of the group, spoke recently with congressional aides to lobby for legislation that would reduce carbon emissions through a fee and dividend exchange program. February 25 is Philanthropy Day If 1,000 donors give to the Annual Fund on Thursday, February 25, an anonymous alumna from the Class of 2001 will generously contribute $100,000 to the school's endowment for financial aid.
