Dear Loomis Chaffee Day Parents,
As always, I hope that this message finds you and your family faring well, particularly under these challenging circumstances. We miss seeing you and your children and look forward to the time when we can all be together again on the Island.
This email is a follow-up to my April 3 message announcing a partial credit for spring term tuition expenses. I thank you for your patience as we have developed a process for families to request the credit or, if they choose, to redirect the money to the school's Annual Fund.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it a financial crisis, the effects of which will have an impact on many members of our community to varying degrees. We hope this credit will be helpful to those of you who may need it. If you are interested in receiving the tuition credit, please request it by May 10 using the online form linked below. A $750 credit will be available to day families who do not receive financial aid. For families receiving financial aid, the credit will be calculated based on your grant amount.
As I noted earlier this month, the school has decided to continue to pay the regularly scheduled hours for employees so as not to add a financial burden to the health crisis. Our strength as a school comes from the dedication and professionalism of the people who work here, and we want to support them during this difficult time. If your circumstances allow, we hope you might consider donating your tuition credit to the Annual Fund. We are fortunate that a handful of anonymous donors have committed to matching credits that parents donate to this year's Annual Fund. These donors will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000, the credit moneys that parents give to the Annual Fund. Your gifts will help support our outstanding faculty and staff.
Next Steps: If you would like to request the spring term partial credit, please complete this online form (parent portal password required) by May 10. If you have more than one child currently enrolled at Loomis, please complete a form for each child. On this form you can indicate whether you want the credit applied to your registration deposit or tuition bill for next year, whether you would like the refund (available only to families of seniors/PGs and those not reenrolling), or whether you would like to donate all or a portion of the credit to the Annual Fund.
