The Online Academy is a robust Loomis Chaffee summer learning experience available to you and other academically motivated students from around the world who find joy in the pursuit of learning. Students will enjoy many benefits of our summer experience through distance learning, including a dynamic learning community, small and engaging classes, peers who enjoy academic enrichment, and teachers who love their craft and are devoted inspiring the best in you.

Morning Sections: 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EDT
Evening Sections: 7:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. EDT
Writing is integral and invaluable to your education, and like any skill, it requires hours of practice, knowledge of the fundamental techniques and rules, good instruction, and then more practice. Writing is a Signature Program at Loomis Chaffee, so we make it a priority in the Summer Program, too!
Our two-week Writing Workshops are designed to give students the chance to gain, practice, and refine step-by-step processes for how to build effective writing skills for college and beyond. Guided by Loomis Chaffee’s Kravis Center for Excellence in Teaching, these courses apply modern teaching methods in order to ensure that students understand, master, and retain these skills. Peer-to-peer activities, group collaborations, and one-on-one conferences with teachers provide a setting to improve one’s writing.
