Students positing at annual Winterfest Dance

“Loomis Chaffee students are expected to work hard, so the student-run StuActs group aims to make sure that there’s always something to look forward to at the end of the week. Whether it’s laser tag in the gym, a van to see the latest Marvel movie, or a chill night with retro games and grilled cheese in the campus center, we’ll find something to help our community unwind.”

Weekends on the Island

Weekends at Loomis give students time to relax, socialize, and have fun. On any given weekend you might find sporting events, cultural celebrations, student and professional performances, talent shows, dances, game nights, club activities, and events off campus. The latter might include trips to local malls and shopping districts, popular restaurants, movie theaters, and special destinations such as bowling allies, arcades, and Six Flags amusement park. Below are just a few of LC’s annual signature events.

Community Engagement

Looking for something interesting and meaningful to do as an after-school activity? Join the Community Engagement program were student volunteers can make a real, meaningful impact in the Windsor and Greater Hartford communities.

From tutoring the youngest scholars to mentoring through chess tournaments to making much needed items, students can find many ways to make a difference, using their unique skills and focusing on issues that are important to them.

At the heart of the program is the Pelican Service Organization (PSO), the schools oldest and largest student-led service club. PSO participation and events are open to all LC students. The PSO supports many community and international partners including, but not limited to, Mary’s Place, Foodshare, Enfield Loaves and Fishes, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Connecticut Children’s Hospital, and many others.
