• Students, please report all positive cases to the Health Center by sending an email to heath_center@loomis.org. Faculty and Staff, please report positive cases to HR.

COVID Positive Cases Guidelines

If you are a roommate, significant other or household contact (day students) of someone who tests positive for COVID, and you develop symptoms, please mask and come to the health center for testing.

Loomis Chaffee strongly recommends that all community members stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations. Student vaccine updates should be shared with the Health Center. Please note that anyone who is diagnosed with COVID-19 will be required to follow the CDC policies on isolation. This policy is subject to change.

It is imperative that all families have 24-hour evacuation plans for their children. We anticipate variants of COVID-19 to create more positive cases and close contacts than its predecessors, and that potential volume will mean relying on families to partner with us. If you are not able to commit to picking up your child and have no one nearby who can assist, there are outside services, such as Student Health Advocates (studenthealthadvocates.com) that some of our families have used. It would be best to make an arrangement with them in advance.

Planning a visit to Loomis Chaffee?

• During the school day, all visitors to campus (except prospective families with an admission appointment) should stop at the Visitor Center located on Batchelder Road just south of the Island Road intersection near the baseball field. 
• Town residents are welcome to use the Loop Road around the perimeter of campus for walking. 

Please note that Loomis Chaffee is a mask-optional campus. Anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 5 days should not come to campus; individuals who are within the 6-to-10 day window and who are asymptomatic should mask diligently when visiting campus, both indoors and outdoors. If you are experiencing upper respiratory symptoms, please wear a mask while on campus.
