Adam BanksHead Coach & Wide Receivers
Adam joined the Island in the winter of 2021 to take over the football program after coaching at Amherst College and Georgetown University. At Amherst, Adam ascended to the role of quarterbacks and pass game and recruiting coordinator. He began his collegiate coaching career at Georgetown, his alma mater, where he coached for four years, working with running backs and wide receivers.
Adam was a four-year letter winner in football at Georgetown, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology. After graduation from Georgetown, Adam worked at the Potomac School in Virginia, assisting in the Athletic Department and coaching football, basketball, and track and field while earning his master’s degree in education from Marymount University.
Adam lives in Batchelder Hall with his wife Heidi and son, Desmond.

Donald McKillopOffensive Coordinator & Quarterbacks
Donnie McKillop joined Loomis in 2017 as the assistant athletic director, the head varsity baseball coach, and an assistant football coach. He is the dorm head of Warham and lives on campus with his wife Katy, their son Trace, and their daughters Phoebe, Virginia, and Betty.
Donnie came to the Island after a season as an assistant football coach at Amherst College. Prior to his time at Amherst, Donnie as a graduate assistant football coach at Springfield College, where he coaches the secondary and linebackers. From 2011-2014, Donnie worked at Williston Northampton, where he also coordinated the defense and passing game for the Wildcats football team.
Donnie is a 2011 graduate of Middlebury, where he was a four year starter on the football and baseball teams, serving as captain of both programs. On the football field, Donnie quarterbacked the 2007 NESCAC champs, while also earning All-NESCAC and Rookie of the Year honors. He earned All League honors all four years at Middlebury, and in 2009 he was named the Player of the Year in the NESCAC.
He graduated as the Panthers highest rated passer and remains atop most passing statistical categories in the program's history. On the diamond he earned All-NESCAC honors as a third baseman in 2009 and 2010, and still holds the record for most doubles in a career.
Donnie earned Middlebury's Bayard Russ '66 Memorial Athletic Award; awarded to the senior who is most outstanding in two intercollegiate spots exemplifying the excellence of performance, aggressiveness, leadership, tremendous desire, and team spirit of A. Bayard Russ '66.
Donnie's favorite element of athletics is the relationships built by the practice of sport; sharing common goals, and pursuing them relentlessly together with teammates.

Adrian StewartDefensive Coordinator, Outside Linebackers
Adrian joined the Loomis Chaffee community in 2000 when he volunteered in the athletic training room while completing his Master's of Physical Therapy from American International College and then became a full faculty member in 2001. Adrian is currently the Head of Physical Therapy here at Loomis and holds a license in physical therapy through the Connecticut State Department of Public health, a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Adrian began coaching at Loomis as the assistant coach for the boys varsity football and basketball, before taking over as the girls varsity head coach in 2008. Coach Stewart also coaches sprinters for the Track and Field teams during the spring.

Stephen ColgateRunning Backs & Tight Ends
Steve Colgate has been a member of the football coaching staff since 2002. He started at the JV level and became the JV head coach in 2008.
He led that team to its last undefeated season in 2013, before moving to the Varsity team full time.
Steve coaches running backs and defensive backs. He lives on campus with his wife and two children, while serving as the Chair of the English Department, as well as an assistant coach to the varsity lacrosse team.
