Leadership Giving Society
Loomis Chaffee alumni, parents, and friends have a long history of generous support and our enduring strength is made possible by this ongoing commitment from the community. While every gift of every size is important, Leadership Giving to the Annual Fund solidifies our standing as an exceptional school with the very best people and programs for the future. The Annual Fund provides vital, flexible-use resources that enable us to sustain the hallmarks of a Loomis Chaffee education, including small class sizes, a superb faculty, and facilities and programs that challenge students to achieve at their highest level.
We thank society members for their generous support in 2020–21 and highlight a few examples of how this support has made an impact.
- Today, Loomis Chaffee awards more than $10.5 million in financial aid grants to 33 percent of our student body.
- With 250 dynamic course offerings, in addition to opportunities for independent study, the average class size is 12 students.
- Unparalleled instruction from 180 faculty members with an average tenure of 10.5 years.
- Intellectual enthusiasm and a diverse range of interests are reflected in our signature programs and centers including: the Alvord Center for Global & Environmental Studies, Kravis Center for Excellence in Teaching, Norton Family Center for the Common Good, Pearse Hub for Innovation, and the Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Loomis Chaffee Leadership Giving Society advances the school’s mission of developing our students in mind, body, and spirit through rigorous academic programs, an inclusive community, and an emphasis on engaged citizenship.
The Society is comprised of alumni, parents, grandparents and friends who contribute $1,000 or more each year to the Annual Fund. In 2020–21, gifts from leadership donors made up 90 percent of the total dollars of the Annual Fund.
