Dear Members of the Loomis Chaffee Community,

Although the 2020-21 year was unlike any other in so many ways, the Loomis Chaffee community of alumni, parents, and friends maintained and, in fact, surpassed its most recent generous support of the school that we all know well and for which we all care deeply.  On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff, I thank you with my most sincere appreciation.

Through this online publication, you will find the Loomis Chaffee Annual Report that reflects the gifts made during the fiscal year running from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. The highlights and lists within the categories of Annual Fund, Leadership, and Planned Giving will give you a sense of how we encourage support of the school for today’s most pressing needs as well as how we plan for the future.

As an overview, I am grateful to report that, thanks to you, we raised $12,645,679 in total voluntary support, which is among our top 10 annual performances ever despite such a challenging year. The funds represented within that total include the crucial Annual Fund for which we reached $4,635,468, capital and endowment fundraising for which we secured $7,112,961 in gifts, and various other restricted commitments totaling $897,250. Every dollar raised strengthens our ability to enroll exceptional students, to retain the best and brightest faculty, to maintain and enhance The Island campus, and – ultimately – to realize the Founders’ vision for this great school.

I am thrilled to share this report with you as a moment for our community to come together and feel proud. We can all use a healthy dose of spirit and joy!

Thank you again for your loyal support. Go Pelicans!
