Complete your gift via credit card using the school’s secure online giving webpage www.loomischaffee.org/give, or to give over the phone, call the Annual Fund at 860.687.6276. Loomis accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Maximize the impact of your gift by having it matched by your employer. Once you make your gift, you must fill out an online or paper form and submit it to Loomis Chaffee. The school will complete its portion and will follow up with your company to ensure that the matching gift is received. To learn if your employer matches employee contributions, please search our Matching Gift Database.
To set up a recurring gift, paid in monthly or yearly installments, please visit www.loomischaffee.org/give and select “increase your impact – make this a recurring gift”. By contributing manageable increments over the course of the year, you can maximize the impact of your gift to Loomis while avoiding a large, one-time sum. Or place your yearly gift on autopilot indefinitely. Once you’ve set up your gift, you will not receive any more solicitations for the remainder of the Annual Fund year.
If you are 70 ½ or older and own a traditional or Roth IRA, you can transfer up to $100,000 in a given tax year to a public charity of your choice, including Loomis Chaffee. Such a gift counts towards your required minimum distribution and, though you will not be eligible for a tax deduction, your gift will not count towards your taxable income. In order to be able to make such a gift to Loomis, please see this suggested template.
If you have already benefited from the immediate tax deductions offered by donor-advised funds (DAFs), you should know that Loomis Chaffee is an IRS-qualified public charity, and therefore eligible to receive contributions from your gift fund. Please follow the instructions provided by your fund regarding minimum contribution, the process for recommending grants, etc.

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic vehicle established at a public charity that allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit, and then recommend grants from the fund to public charities of their choice over time.
How Does it Work?
Establish your DAF by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
Advise the investment allocation of the donated assets (any investment growth is tax-free).
Recommend grants to qualified public charities of your choice.
