Summer Reading 2024

Summer Reading

Student reading on the quad in an adirondack chair

At Loomis Chaffee, we believe Summer Reading is an essential and enriching part of each student’s experience. All students are required to complete three Summer Reading components, which are assigned to build community, prepare students for fall classes, and encourage the pursuit of knowledge for favorite subjects.

Students in U.S. History and CL U.S. History will also have a summer experience assignment. Details about each of these requirements can be found below.

Recommended Reads

Summer is a wonderful time to read to explore your own interests. To help you discover more books to read, each department and center on campus has created a list of recommended titles that you might also enjoy.
