Laakso and Lotreck Receive Academic All-American Honors

Seniors Otto Laakso and Robert Lotreck were selected to the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America All-America Academic Team this weekend.

Lotreck received the honor in swimming, and Laakso received the honor in both swimming and water polo.

In order to qualify for this award, student-athletes must have a minimum grade-point-average of 3.750 on a 4-point scale, be a graduating senior, and have lettered in the high school swimming, diving, or water polo program in their senior year.

More than 342,294 male and female students are involved in aquatics at the high school level in the United States, and only approximately 2 percent of these students are recognized as high school Academic All Americans.

Congratulations to both Robert and Otto for their hard work both in the classroom and in the pool!
