Boys Lacrosse Wins Founders League Title

For the first time since 2008, the Loomis Chaffee boys lacrosse team has won the Founders League.

The team defeated Choate 10-5 in the Founders League tournament semifinals on Saturday, May 20, and beat Taft 14-7 in the finals on Wednesday, May 23. This was a huge year for the team, which finished the 2024 spring season with a record of 16-2.

In the semifinals against Choate, Loomis had a big first half that translated into an 8-2 lead as the halftime buzzer sounded. Smart play in the second half allowed the boys to conserve their lead, and they got the win to advance to the championship game on the road against Taft.

The Pelicans came out flying in the championship game, jumping out to a 6-1 lead that they used to propel themselves to victory over the Rhinos. Loomis never trailed in the game and was able to control the tempo from start to finish.

"Words can’t describe how proud I am of this group and the effort they put into this season," said head coach Bill Ball. "The dedication and commitment that our players have shown to this program is truly special."
