Boys Squash Prevails Over Suffield

The Pelicans traveled to Suffield Academy on Saturday, January 25, securing a dominant 7-0 victory over their cross-town rivals.

Leading the charge were juniors Andrew Kim and Teema Thanunmanee, who displayed discipline and professionalism on the court. Both players executed their strategies flawlessly, sweeping their opponents with convincing 3-0 victories. Their matches served as a testament to the team’s focus on structured and disciplined play, emphasizing the importance of using strategy and precision to outmaneuver their opponents.

Across the lineup, the Pelicans demonstrated their skill and determination, dropping only two games in the entire match.

Adding to the excitement, sophomore Brian Zeng provided a thrilling moment in his match. After securing an early 2-0 lead, he found himself in a tough battle as his opponent clawed back to even the score at 2-2. However, Zeng remained composed and stuck to his game plan, exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses and ultimately clinching a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

With this decisive win, the boys squash team now turns its focus to a pivotal matchup against Kingswood Oxford on Wednesday, January 29. This contest is expected to be one of the most important of the season as the Pelicans aim to secure favorable seeding for the High School Team Nationals.
