Lindsay Stepnowski Represents Team USA at IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship

Senior Lindsay Stepnowski, a captain and four-year member of the Loomis Chaffee girls varsity hockey team, is competing with the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team at the world championships in Nova Scotia, Canada. 

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Under-18 Women’s World Championship tournament takes place January 10–18, and teams are playing in pre-tournament games this week. In its first pre-tournament game, Team USA faces Czechia on Wednesday, January 7, at 4:40 p.m. local time (3:40 p.m. EST). 

Lindsay, a forward, is a member of Team USA’s 25-player roster for the tournament. She previously represented the United States in Under-18 series play against Canada in 2024 and 2025, notching a goal and two assists in the 2025 series.  

In the IIHF tournament, the United States will compete in Group B alongside Czechia, Slovakia, and Finland. 

The preliminary round begins on Saturday, when the U.S. faces Slovakia at 10 a.m. local time (9 a.m. EST) in Membertou, Nova Scotia. On Sunday, January 11, the Americans will take on Czechia in a 6 p.m. matchup. The preliminary round concludes on Tuesday, January 13, with Team USA playing Finland at 1:30 p.m. local time (12:30 p.m. EST).  

After the preliminary round, the tournament moves to the Centre 200 venue in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Quarterfinal action takes place on January 15, with four games scheduled throughout the day. Matchups for the quarterfinals will be determined after the preliminary round.  

The semifinals are scheduled for January 17, and the tournament concludes on January 18, with the bronze medal and gold medal games.
