After graduating from Loomis Chaffee, Madie had an outstanding collegiate career at Middlebury College. Kaleigh has been a steady presence in international competition, representing Switzerland in multiple IIHF Women’s World Championships and the 2022 Winter Olympics. She plays professionally for SC Bern Frauen in the Swiss Women’s League.
In IIHF tournaments, teams are grouped according to their world rankings, which are based on results from the previous Winter Olympics and the four most recent World Championships, with more recent results carrying more weight. Switzerland enters the 2025 tournament ranked fifth in the world and is competing in Group A for the sixth consecutive year. Kaleigh will face off against numerous Olympians and professional players. Hungary, currently ranked second in Group B, is looking to earn promotion with a strong tournament performance.
Group play began on Wednesday, April 9, when Kaleigh and Team Switzerland were to face host nation Czechia. Madie and Team Hungary take on Sweden at 9 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday, April 10. All games are being held in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. The full schedule can be seen here.
Good luck to Madie and Kaleigh as they represent their countries on the world stage.
