Pelicans Represent Across Growing United Soccer League W League

The Hartford Athletic W League team played its inaugural match on May 18 with four Loomis Chaffee alumnae on its roster.

Emma Gregorski ’25 and Olivia Beauvois ’24 both earned starts and played the full 90 minutes in the historic first game for Hartford’s new W League team. Gregorski and Kelly Stepnowski ’24, also a member of the Hartford Athletic roster, both play at Providence College, while Beauvois played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Seton Hall University and will join University of Connecticut for her junior season. Loomis alumna Liana Hinds ’12 is also part of the Hartford Athletic squad.

Elsewhere in the United Soccer League (USL) W League, Louisa Thomsen ’24, who plays at Bucknell University, competes for the Vermont Green Football Club, while Tennessee Murphy ’26, who will begin her collegiate career at Bucknell University this fall, competes for the New England Mutiny.

According to the USL W League, the summer league serves as the nation’s premier pre-professional women’s soccer league, helping develop the next generation of talent both on and off the field. As part of the USL Women’s Pathway, the league provides collegiate athletes with a high-level summer competition platform while allowing them to maintain NCAA eligibility. With more than 90 teams across the United States, the W League continues to expand opportunities for players, fans, and communities involved in the women’s game.
