Rowyn Nurry ’25 Takes Next Step Toward U.S. U20 Team

Rowyn Nurry ’25, a lacrosse attackman who recently completed a postgraduate year at Loomis Chaffee, was one of 32 players invited to the U.S. men’s U20 training camp — a step toward potential selection for the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in South Korea.

Originally from Avondale, Pennsylvania, Nurry previously attended Salesianum School in Delaware, where he helped lead the team to a state championship in each of his four seasons on the team. His standout performances earned him first-team all-state honors, and he was named a USA Lacrosse All-American two years in a row.

After graduating from Salesianum, Nurry enrolled at Loomis for a postgraduate year, seeking further academic and athletic development. Beyond lacrosse, he served as a senior representative on the Student Council and was an active participant in the Loomis Chaffee Athletic Association. He is committed to play lacrosse at Cornell University.

Reflecting on his decision to attend Loomis, Nurry explained, “I chose Loomis for two main reasons, the first being [boys varsity lacrosse head] coach [Bill] Ball. … He believed in me, and he was the kind of coach that I wanted to play for. His commitment to the program and knowledge of the game has helped my development on and off the field. The second reason was that I felt most at home visiting Loomis. I looked at a variety of prep schools, but none of them felt like Loomis. At Loomis, I felt a sense of camaraderie and community that I wanted to be a part of. I couldn't be more grateful for the people I have met here and the friendships I have made at Loomis.”

Ranked by Inside Lacrosse as the 18th overall high school boys player in the Class of 2025 nationally, Nurry added to an already impressive resume this spring. He was named West I Attackman of the Year and received the Stew Lindsay Award. Nurry earned All-West I and All-New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) honors, along with teammates senior David Disque, senior Liam O’Keefe, junior Michael Brennan, senior Hayden Cody, junior Jayden Rodriguez, and junior Milki Conway-Reppert. Seniors Cole Goodwillie, Nate Macpherson, and Gray Tamasco received Honorable Mention All-NEPSAC recognition. Junior Saki Nicholas and senior Gennaro Pompano were selected to the All-Founders League team.

Their coaches also earned recognition, with Steve Colgate named West I Assistant Coach of the Year and Ball honored as West I Head Coach of the Year.
