The girls varsity volleyball team clinched its fourth straight Founders League title with a 3-0 win over Kent on Saturday, November 12.
Before the game, the team celebrated its six seniors, and Erickson Gym was decorated with streamers, photos, and signs in their honor. Senior captains Kore Meissner and Syd Hanley and seniors Sophia Prendergast, Jill Rinaldi, Turner Brode, and Kaitlin Flynn all started the game for Loomis and got off to a dominant start despite playing in new spots to make the lineup work. They won the first set 25-6, and then other players on the team subbed in and took part in the game.
“It was a really special day for these girls, and they have a lot to be proud of. They have worked hard and laid the groundwork for us to have a lot more success in the future. We are going to miss them next year, but for now they are focused on making a deep playoff run,” said head coach Jeff Dyreson.
The second and third set were a little more competitive, but Loomis never trailed during the match.
Up next, the team is on the road against fourth-seeded Andover in New England Prep School Athletic Conference Class A quarterfinal action. The game will take place Wednesday, November 16, at 4 p.m. Those who can’t attend the game can watch it live online.
