Jordyn Hill-Bucktooth ’26 recently was awarded the Tewaaraton Outstanding Native American/Haudenosaunee Scholarship. The scholarship is given to one female and one male of Haudenosaunee heritage who achieve academic excellence and exemplify high character and leadership both on and off the lacrosse field, according to the foundation’s website. 

Jordyn was on the Loomis Chaffee varsity girls lacrosse team for four years and was the starting goalie since her sophomore year. She will play next year at the University of Rochester. She had 367 career saves, according to the foundation's press release, which also noted she had consecutive Magna Cum Laude honors on the National Latin Exam, and recognition through the CollegeBoard National Indigenous Recognition Program.  

Jordyn is a member of the Cayuga Nation. A college recommendation said “her enthusiasm for [lacrosse] is contagious” and noted that she was a “thoughtful, creative, disciplined, and self-motivated” student. Jordyn also was an environmental proctor at Loomis.
