Schedule of Events

Yes. We will offer individual, 10-minute meetings for parents with advisors on Friday and Saturday based on a time that fits both your schedules. Your child’s advisor will contact you prior to the weekend to schedule your appointment.

Yes. The Faculty Meet & Greet will take place on Saturday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Katharine Brush Library. Parents of students with the last name A–L are asked to attend from 8:30–9:30 a.m., and parents of students with last name K–Z from 9–10 a.m. Please note that we ask parents and teachers to keep the introductions to 2–3 minutes in order to allow teachers to meet with all their students’ parents. If you require a private conference with a particular teacher to address an area of concern, please work with your child’s advisor to arrange a meeting or call at another time.

Individual appointments with college counselors are available for seniors and their parents on Friday during Family Weekend. All senior parents will receive an email from their child’s college counselor with a link to an online schedule for sign-ups. The College Office will sponsor presentations for parents during the weekend; please refer to your weekend schedule for more information.

For Family Weekend, beginning Friday, October 23 students may leave campus with parents for daytime trips (errands, meals, etc.) by using the Sign Out (SISO) feature on Reach. Students can sign themselves out online by tapping the heading “Off Campus with Parents.” For this weekend only, they do not need to check out with a faculty member for a trip off campus with a parent. Students are expected to attend their obligations unless they have received specific permission from their dean.

Students may leave campus for the weekend but must attend all of their obligations. If you are taking your student off campus, please plan ahead and provide information to your child in advance so he/she can fill out a Leave Request on REACH Boarding for overnight visits. Students will be asked to submit their request on REACH by Thursday, October 1. If you decide after that date to take your student off campus, students should still use REACH for a Leave Request, and should expect to come in person to the Deans’ Office (Thursday afternoon, Friday) or the OD desk (Saturday) in order to complete the process and gain approval. The student will be able to see online when he or she is approved to leave.

If you plan to host another boarding student, please provide your email address and the location to the student so he/she can enter you as a host on REACH. Then you will receive an email generated by REACH asking you to approve the details of this student’s travel off campus into your care.

Monday, October 26, is a fall term holiday – all classes and after-school extra-curricular obligations will not be held. Boarding students should return by 7:30 p.m. for evening study hall. Classes resume on Tuesday, October 27.

Families are invited to join students and faculty for breakfast and lunch on Saturday in the Dining Halls. On Friday evening, dinner is available; many families choose to eat dinner off-campus; a list of local restaurants is available in our Local Area Guide. Coffee and refreshments will be available in Scanlan Campus Center on Friday afternoon.
