Day in the Life
Day in the Life
Whether you live on campus or in a nearby town, life as a Loomis Chaffee student is a 24-hour a day, seven-day a week experience with good friends — in the classrooms, on the playing fields and stages, in the dorms and dining halls, and all the spaces in between.
A Typical Day
What is a typical day like here on the Island? Check out a day in the life of several boarding and day students! (Please note that some of these days were filmed when masks were required in indoor spaces.)
Two Days at a Glance
There are four class periods each day, Monday through Friday, and all days except Wednesdays include a free period labeled Community Time or Gap. Classes are 70 to 75 minutes long, except on Wednesdays when they are 50 minutes long. On that day, classes end at 12:20 p.m. and the afternoon is dedicated to interscholastic athletics competitions as well as activities such as theater rehearsals. There are no classes on Saturdays but there are interscholastic athletics competitions and other activities.
