Rising seventh graders who are at least 12 years old by the start date of the program up to rising 10th graders who are not yet 16 by the start of the program are welcome to apply.

In order to complete an Enrichment Program application, the student must visit the How to Apply page, click on apply, then create a student account with username and password. The system will request items like your permanent address, mailing address (if different) and contact information for you and your parents. You will need to upload the following documents: a personal statement, an official copy of their transcript, a language score (if applicable) and a school report that is usually filled out by a guidance counselor or administrator. The application will request the names and email addresses for your references (one from your English teacher and another from a teacher of your choosing). Please be careful with typing in your references’ email addresses as the system will send the teachers a link for the form submission. The last requirement to finish the application is a $50 application fee paid through the website with a credit or debit card.

Applications submitted prior to our priority deadline of February 1 will be read and a decision will be communicated by February 15. For completed applications submitted after February 1, it typically takes 3–5 business days to review your application in order to render an admission decision. All decisions will be emailed to you as well as displayed in your student portal.

There is a limited amount of financial aid available for the Enrichment Program with the priority given to current or incoming Loomis Chaffee students. If you are interested in being considered for financial aid, please reach out to the Summer Programs Office for an application.

Congratulations! If you are accepted, you will have two weeks to confirm your decision. To accept your spot, you will need to sign into your student portal using the credentials you created during your application to complete these important steps to move forward: accept (or reject) your decision, create your FACTS Tuition Management account to make your deposit, and click the box that says you acknowledge our current COVID policy. Failure to complete these steps within two weeks will not allow us to provide you with the link for registering for classes and could jeopardize your spot in the program. If you need extra time, please email or call the Summer Programs Office to request an extension.

You will have additional requirements to complete prior to attending the program. For instance, you’ll need to complete the following: upload a photo for your ID, submit your class preferences, complete your medical paperwork, travel survey and belonging survey.

To be considered for Early Acceptance, applications should be completed no later than February 1. Admission decisions will be communicated by February 15 via email and the student portal. Depending on the number of spots remaining, admissions will be rolling between February 16 and May 1.

Students will be provided with a pillow, blanket, sheets and towels as part of the program.

Students attending the Enrichment Program are required to have a physical evaluation within the last year as well as all required vaccinations set forth by the State of Connecticut. Additional medical forms, including emergency contact information is found on the Magnus Health Portal.

All students must have U.S.-based health insurance for the duration of the program. We offer both domestic and international student policies for the program through Clifford Allen. If you need to purchase health insurance, you can access our summer health insurance plan sign-up here.

Yes, you may visit your child during the program, but we encourage students to fully immerse themselves in the experience to build our community so infrequent visits are allowed. The best time to visit is on a Sunday afternoon. We typically have outings and other mandatory programming on Saturdays. If you are planning to visit your child, we require notice via email (summer@loomis.org) at least 48-hours before visiting, with your intended visit day and time. If leaving campus, students will have to fill out a permissions form and check-out with a staff member before departing.

On the weekends, students participate in a variety of off-campus and on-campus activities. Past examples of off-campus activities include: a ropes course, attending a professional soccer game, a trip to an amusement park, a trip to a water park, and attending an AA baseball game. On-campus activities have included movie nights, s’mores making around firepits, board games, karaoke, open gym/swim, and a silent disco.

No, students do not receive homework in their classes. They may have some topics that they need to reflect upon during evening dorm events, but there are no graded homework assignments.

No, students are not given grades in their classes. At the end of the program, each student will receive comments from their teachers in each class and from their advisor.

Students will be served three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) each full day they are here. On registration day, their first meal will be dinner and on the day of departure they’ll receive breakfast and lunch. We have multiple self-service stations including hot entree, sandwiches, salads and fruit. We denote allergen information on placards near the items.

Registration will be from 1–4 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 in Hubbard and Chaffee (building #51 & 52 on the campus map). Day students should plan to arrive between 3 and 4 p.m. Once on campus, signs will direct you to these buildings. Additional signs will lead you to enter through a particular door so that you and your family may walk through all our stations. You’ll be directed to check-in, receive your key and ID, place your important items like return plane tickets, visas, and cash into a safe and register your medication with the Health Center.

Families are welcome to assist the student through the check-in process and to get set up in their dorm room. At 4:30 p.m. the students are required to start their programming so all families must depart campus around 4 p.m.

Unfortunately, for staffing and safety reasons, we cannot accommodate incoming students at an earlier day or time. Please plan your travel accordingly.

The Enrichment Program ends on Friday, July 25, 2025. Parents are invited to campus for our Program Showcase on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Park in the Hubbard/Chaffee lots (careful to avoid Faculty, Admission and Health Center designated spots) and join us in Olcott Gym. We will have a presentation for the group and then break into classroom highlights from 10:30–11:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. we'll meet back in Olcott for a final presentation before lunch is served and check-out begins. Students may depart campus starting at noon. All students must have arrangements to be off campus by 2 p.m. on July 25, 2025.

If your student would like to bring a musical instrument, they may, but we Loomis Chaffee and the Enrichment Program are not responsible should the item be damaged, lost or stolen. We do not recommend bringing valuables to the program including special instruments.

Our Loomis Chaffee bookstore will be open during the Enrichment Program and it has items like toiletries, classroom supplies, Loomis Chaffee apparel and snacks. There are also opportunities for students to walk to downtown Windsor where there is a CVS pharmacy, coffee shop and restaurants.

Current courses for Summer 2025 are listed on our website. Course selection will begin by the end of April.

Yes, if included on your application and provided to us in the Belonging Survey, we’ll do our best to call you by your preferred name.

The student may have an occasional expense of snacks or treats that they will want to purchase either from the bookstore or while on an off-campus outing. However, most locations do not accept cash and require individuals to pay with a card. So, students should bring a minimal amount of cash and are encouraged to keep only $20 on their person. Additional funds can be stored in the safe in the Summer Programs Office.

All program policies can be found in our Enrichment Program Handbook. As you read through the handbook, it is important to note the dress code and cell phone policies.

If your child does not hold a U.S. passport, they will need to obtain a B-2 Visa. Due to the nature of the Enrichment Program, a student Visa is not required. The Summer Program administration will provide your child with a letter supporting the B-2 visa upon your request.

Instruction in the Enrichment Program is conducted exclusively in English; therefore, students must be proficient in the English language to attend. International students who attend an academic year school in which English is NOT the primary language of instruction are required to submit one of the following standardized tests in their application: TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, or SSAT and potentially have a virtual interview with the Summer Program team. Students who are at an IB school whose primary language is English do not need to submit scores.

No, a parent does not have to stay in the area during the program, however, you are required to provide two local guardians of your parents’ choosing who drive to campus within a 2–3 hour window to assist in your care. Guardians with addresses who do not fit this description will be rejected by our medical staff.

International students will be automatically enrolled in a guardianship program provided by Student Health Advocates (SHA). Information about the program will be emailed directly to families.

For staffing and safety reasons, we cannot accommodate students arriving to campus before registration starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday (the arrival day) or departing campus after 2 p.m. on the last day of the program.

Yes! We will provide transportation to/from the Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks/Hartford, CT and the Windsor, CT train station. Please complete your Travel Survey accordingly.
